President Museveni in Tanzania for two-day working visit

President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday travelled to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for a two-day working visit at the invitation of Her Excellency, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, President Museveni was received by Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation; Col. Fred Mwesigye, Uganda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, alongside other senior Tanzanian government officials.
The President inspected a Silent Guard of Honour mounted in his honour before witnessing a colourful cultural dance performance.
He was later escorted by Amb. Kombo to the Presidential Lounge before proceeding to his official residence in Dar es Salaam.

At Entebbe International Airport, President Museveni was seen off by the Vice President, Maj (rtd) Jessica Alupo; the Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babirye Babalanda; and the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe.
President Museveni’s visit follows an invitation from President Suluhu and is expected to further strengthen the longstanding friendly relations and cooperation between Uganda and Tanzania.
During the two-day visit, the two Heads of State are expected to hold high-level discussions on matters of mutual interest, including bilateral cooperation, regional integration within the East African Community, trade and investment, infrastructure development, peace and security, as well as other areas aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two neighbouring countries.
