SALIM Saleh has again salvaged athletics with a sh25m offer to fully sponsor Uganda's junior team for the World Cross-country Championships in Brussels next weekend.
Saleh, the Uganda Amateur Athletics Federation (UAAF) patron, yesterday confirmed the offer that covers training, allowances and air-tickets for five athletes and two officials.
A year ago, Saleh financed the teams' training and travel to the World Cross-country in Vilamoura, Portugal shortly after funding an athletics team to South Africa for the All Africa Games.
"We are very excited," said UAAF secretary Patrick Okanya.
"I will immediately inform IAAF of the development and confirm our entry," said Okanya after being informed of Saleh's offer by UAAF chairman Suleiman Habib.
