I. Kibuuka v G. Gologosa

N. Tumusiime v F. Ngobi

Two-time Global Boxing Federation (GBF) middleweight champion Meddie Kabona Ssebyala has vowed to make light work of former East and Central Africa Boxing Union (ABU) champion Kenny Lukyamuzi, alias "Da Mexico," when the two face off this Saturday, May 30, at Club Obligato.

The highly anticipated showdown will see the long-time rivals finally settle their differences in a thrilling eight-round super middleweight contest aimed at boosting their continental rankings.

Dubbed "Sweet Science Season 6 Extra," the event is organized by Nara Pro Boxing Promotions and sanctioned by the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF). It promises a thrilling night featuring an action-packed card of 20 bouts.

Coming into this blockbuster with a ring record of 40 professional fights—23 wins (20 knockouts), 16 losses, and a draw—Ssebyala, who also fervently serves as an Imam at Masjid Taqiyah in Bwaise Zone, is confident of battering his rival. He famously crashed Badru "Mr. Crush" Lusambya in 2019.

"I respect Da Mexico because he is really a good fighter, but he has to understand that I'm Mr. Problems, a son of a Nnalongo. Trust me, I'm going to swallow him alive," Ssebyala told Vision Sport.

"To me, this fight is like a sparring session since I'm gearing up for my upcoming mega fights outside the country. See you, my fans, on Saturday."

However, Da Mexico, who boasts 18 professional fights with 8 wins (including three knockouts), nine losses, and one draw, and is fresh from knocking out Jinja-based Frank Ngobi, remains unfazed by Ssebyala's ring experience.

"I don't care whether he has 10,000 fights to his name. That means nothing to me. My message to Ssebyala is simple: I'm going to retire him," Da Mexico warned.

The undercard thrillers will be headlined by motor-mouthed Nansana-based middleweight Grace Gologosa and Busega Market's Coach Ivan Kibuuka.

National team "The Bombers" light middleweight Nerrick Bulabe Tumusiime takes on Frank Ngobi, while welterweight Paul Rascara is slated to battle Swalick Kisitu.
