Faridah Kadondi, a standout defender for Uganda’s national netball team, the She Cranes, has parted ways with Nottingham Forest Netball following a ten-month stint that began in September 2024.
During her time at the club, Kadondi featured in seven key matches, contributing significantly to Nottingham Forest’s debut campaign in the newly launched Netball Super League 2.0.
Known for her roles as goal defender and goalkeeper, she quickly gained recognition for her resilience, leadership, and professionalism, earning favour both on and off the court.
Kadondi’s move to Nottingham Forest marked a major step in her career, having previously played for Makindye Weyonje Netball Club in Uganda. Her efforts helped propel the team to an impressive fifth-place finish out of eight, while also shaping the spirit and culture of the squad during its foundational season.
Head coach Chelsea Pitman paid tribute to Kadondi’s impact, saying: “We’re incredibly grateful for everything Faridah brought to the team this entire season, not just on court, but off court as well. She’s been part of laying the foundations for our culture, style of play, and identity. Faridah brought pure sunshine to the group, and she will be missed.”
Kadondi’s release is the second in two years involving a She Cranes player at an English netball club, following Haniisha Muhameed Nakate’s departure from Surrey Storm last season.
As she moves on from Nottingham Forest, Kadondi leaves behind a legacy of determination, professionalism, and progress, qualities that continue to shape Ugandan netball on the international stage.
