The National Council of Sports (NCS) Assistant General Secretary, Joseph Oluka, has called on universities to uphold integrity during the 20th Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games currently underway at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono.
Oluka emphasized that students who are overage should refrain from participating, stressing that the spirit of the games lies in fairness and discipline.
“These games should be participated in with high integrity because we have no winners and losers,” Oluka said.

He noted that the government has placed significant emphasis on sports development, shifting focus from individual disciplines to multi-sport approaches. “We are moving away from individual sports to multi-sports thinking because there are many benefits from sports, and some students have already benefited,” Oluka explained.
Highlighting the role of sports in education, he added: “We need to have healthy minds in healthy bodies.”
