Game 1 results

Namuwongo 73 Oilers 67

Nyembo Fataki dropped a team-high 18 points, while Tony Drileba and Innocent Ochera added 16 and 15 points respectively to give the Namuwongo Blazers a 73-67 victory over the City Oilers yesterday at Lugogo.

Namuwongo led by as many as 17, but the Oilers clawed back to make things interesting towards the end of the game. Still, Namuwongo always looked in control of the outcome, supplying answers for every question posed by their opponents.

The Oilers were led by Patrick Rembert, who drained a game-high 28 points in 38 minutes, but the guard did not get enough support, with no teammate scoring double figures.

The Oilers were outscored 25-14 in the first quarter, and even though they bounced back to win the next three quarters 53-48, Namuwongo always had them at arm's length.

The Oilers will have an opportunity to level the series when the two sides meet tomorrow for Game 2.
