KCCA FC have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of former Wakiso Giants and New York Red Bulls II midfielder Ibrahim Owen Kasule on a two-year contract.

The 13-time Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions announced Kasule’s arrival on Friday, shortly after defeating BUL FC 2-1 in the FUFA Super 8 quarter-final return leg at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, to reach the semi-finals.

“KCCA FC is delighted to announce the signing of dynamic midfielder Ibrahim Owen Kasule on a two-year contract,” the club said in a statement.

“The 22-year-old playmaker returns to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) following a prolific spell abroad, adding elite creative flair and high-level scoring output to the Cityzens,” the statement added.

The right-footed midfielder returns to Uganda with impressive numbers from his three-year spell in the United States.

Kasule played for New York Red Bulls II in MLS Next Pro before joining Connecticut United FC on loan this year. He left the Red Bulls as a free agent at the end of last season.

During his time with New York Red Bulls II, Kasule scored 28 goals in 64 MLS Next Pro appearances. His performances earned him a brief promotion to the club’s senior side, New York Red Bulls, where he was included in the matchday squad for a game against New England Revolution.

Kasule said he was delighted to join KCCA, describing the club as ambitious and expressing his desire to win trophies.

“Joining KCCA feels like coming to a club with great ambition. I have gained invaluable experience and exposure during my time in the United States and abroad, and I want to use everything I have learned to help this team achieve great things,” said Kasule.

He becomes the latest addition to a KCCA squad that has already welcomed Yunusu Sibira, Maxwell Owachgiu, Charles Lwanga and Elvis Ngonde this transfer window.

The Kasasiro Boys are also reportedly interested in forwards Jude Ssemugabi and Brian James Obedi as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new UPL season.
