Uganda’s leading amateur golfer, Peace Kabasweka, posted a 9-over 219 across 54 holes to secure her third consecutive Tooro Ladies Golf Open title as the fourth edition concluded at Tooro Club on Saturday.
Kabasweka recorded three birdies over three rounds, earning her sixth championship title this season.
Her other victories include the UGC Ladies Open, President’s Cup, Namulonge Ladies Open, Mbale Ladies Open, and Tanna Golf Memorial Championships.
The Tooro Golf Club lady captain led throughout the tournament, opening with a 75. She then made three consecutive birdies on holes 11, 12, and 14 during her second round, scoring a 68, and finished with a 76. Kabasweka claimed the largest share of the sh5m prize in an event held under the theme 'Go beyond for the girl child.'

“I feel blessed to have won three times in a row on my home course, despite the responsibilities of organising the tournament. Most importantly, this year we dedicated the event to junior girls by providing golf equipment and other necessities. I thank all my sponsors for supporting this cause,” Kabasweka said.
“It is the determination to keep the trophy home that motivated me to keep my head down.”
Queen Rebecca Amoding-Rukidi attended the event and presented prizes to the top performers.
“We were deeply honoured and grateful to Her Royal Highness for gracing the event as our Guest of Honour. Her presence was a powerful statement of women’s empowerment, unity, and the importance of supporting one another,” Kabasweka stated.
We sincerely thank our sponsors, Tooro Club friends, well-wishers, players, and everyone who contributed. Your generosity and support made the Tooro Ladies Open 2026 a resounding success.
