The Namuwongo Blazers will secure qualification to the BAL Elite 16 qualifiers with victory over South Sudanese champions Patriots today in Hoima.
Although that is the most likely outcome of the contest, it will still be the toughest test yet for the two-time Ugandan champions at the Road to BAL East Division Group D qualifiers.
The Patriots are much better than the two sides Namuwongo have defeated - both victories coming with an average of 53.5 points.
The South Sudanese are much more talented, and have players in their ranks with BAL experience. Plus, having already lost to Urunani, this is must-win game for them if they are to preserve their hopes of going to the final stage of qualification.
Namuwongo will still be confident of doing their job, even as they relish the challenge to test themselves against stronger opposition than what they have encountered thus far.
Yesterday, they strolled past Madagascar's COSPN en route to a 99-56 win, with Franck Nyembo draining a game-high 23 points for the Blazers.
Today is a rest day for the Ugandan champions, who top the standings on four points and a better points difference than Urunani, who level on points.
