Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has outlined his plans to revamp the railway network to facilitate the transportation of food and cash crops, particularly coffee, cotton and matooke, which the people of Namisindwa district are known for producing.

"Namisindwa district has the worst road network, yet they are known for producing enough food that goes to urban areas, including Kampala city, but it has been neglected for 40 years," he said on his campaign trail.

He promised to purchase coffee huller machines for farmers who have been with a consistent record of coffee growing, leveraging the district's coffee production potential.

This, he said, would create jobs, increase income, and boost the local economy.

Mafabi, a first-time presidential candidate who also serves as FDC's secretary-general, urged the people of Namisindwa to vote for the FDC, claiming that the current government has neglected the region.

"With my first term in office, we shall prioritise road infrastructure, railway network, electricity in villages and provision of clean water for all citizens," he pledged.

He promised that an FDC government would also prioritise development, improve infrastructure, and provide better services, ensuring that money reaches all segments of society.
