Among the notable congratulatory messages was one from Prof. Dr Alex R. Ario Otema, Awitong of the Apac Okwero Ngec Ayita Clan, who described Dr Aceng’s victory as a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Lira City have placed in her leadership.

“Your victory is not only a testament to the confidence and trust that the people of Lira City have placed in your leadership, but also a recognition of your unwavering dedication, resilience, and service to the nation,” Prof. Ario stated.

He added that Dr Aceng’s achievement would inspire many young people, especially women, to believe in leadership through hard work, commitment, and service to the community.

Retired senior military officer and Vice Chairman of the NRM Veterans League for Northern Uganda, Col (Rtd) Dr Francis Ongia, also hailed Dr Aceng upon her swearing-in for the 2026–2031 parliamentary term.

“This achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a significant moment for the people of Lira City and the entire Lango Sub-region,” Ongia said in his message.

He noted that Dr Aceng’s leadership continues to inspire women, youth, professionals, and future leaders across the region, describing her as a symbol of resilience, discipline, and purposeful leadership.

Ongia further prayed for wisdom, courage, good health, and humility for the legislator as she embarks on another term of national service.

“Your commitment, leadership, and dedication to public service have earned you this distinguished position, and we have no doubt that you will serve with distinction,” the team stated.

The supporters expressed optimism that her tenure would deliver inclusive development, improved service delivery, and meaningful socio-economic transformation for the people of Lira City.

Dr Aceng comes to Parliament at a time when the government continues to prioritise industrialisation, wealth creation, improved household incomes, and expansion of healthcare services across the country.

Her supporters say they expect her experience both in Cabinet and Parliament to strengthen representation for Lira City and advance development initiatives in the region.
