Uganda to host UK Trade, Investment and Tourism delegation

The delegation is scheduled to arrive in Uganda on February 16, 2026.

KAKUMIRO - Uganda will host the United Kingdom Trade, Investment, and Tourism delegation next month.

This was revealed by Nimisha Madhvani, Uganda’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and Ambassador to Ireland, while meeting the Prime Minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s country home in Kakumiro district on Tuesday, January 20th.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister, this is a follow-up on Nabbanja's working trip to the United Kingdom in October last year, where she met a huge delegation of Westminster Africa Business Association in London.

“Reference is made to your letter inviting Andrew Rosindell, MP, House of Commons, UK, together with the business delegation you met during your visit to the United Kingdom in October 2025. I’m glad to inform you that they have confirmed to visit Uganda in a letter dated 19th Jan 2026, signed by Lawrence Robertson, Chief Executive, Westminster Africa Business Association Ltd.” Madhvani briefed the Prime Minister.

The visit comes at a particularly important time for Uganda’s economic and political advancement and will further demonstrate international confidence in Uganda as a safe and attractive destination for investment and tourism.

The delegation is scheduled to arrive in Uganda on February 16, 2026.

Her press team reports that Nabbanja thanked Madhvani for promoting business diplomacy in the longtime ally Uganda, the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

“I want to thank you for the good business diplomacy you are promoting in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Uganda Government ready to receive the UK team in February,” noted Nabbanja.

Nabbanja also challenged all missions and embassies of Uganda elsewhere to promote business diplomacy for the good of our country.

Nabbanja's team reports that the  UK   team due in Kampala will be led by Lawrence Robertson, the Chief Executive Officer Westminster Africa Business Association, and will include Tim Johnsen, from Eagle Scientific Ltd, Heffin Rees, Spotlight on Africa, and Olver Wells, Africa Global Logistics.

Ms. Sarafina Luvinga,  Sunlush Investment Company, and Eric Lokolong from OSH Advocates, a Ugandan Law Firm supporting corporate and commercial Business.

Others on the delegation are Sithembumenzi Vuma, British International Investments (Kenya), Korab Toplica from Mabetex Group, who deals in global engineering and construction, Andrew Rosindell, MP, Parliamentary chairman of WABA, Reform Party, and Lord Dolar Popat, former Trade Envoy to Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. 

In his letter dated 19 January 2026, Lawrence Robertson, the chief executive of Westminster Africa Business Association Ltd, noted that during their visit, they would hope to hold business-to-business engagements and also hold meetings with relevant government ministries, departments, and agencies.
