The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu has postponed this year’s Coronation Anniversary celebrations from October 19 to November 14, 2026, because of the King's continued stay in Turkey, where he went for a medical review on August 27, 2026.

Speaking to New Vision online on October 7, 2026, at Verina Gardens Hotel in Kasese Municipality, the Rwenzururu kingdom Prime Minister, Benson Baritazale Kule, said the coronation anniversary will now be combined with the Omusinga's Birthday Run and celebrated as one major event.

Kule, however, allayed fears among the Rwenzururu subjects, saying the King's condition is not life-threatening.

"The Mumbere is stable and strong. He is only on a routine medical checkup. Good enough, the King is responding very well to all the medical procedures being done on him," he said.

Kule clarified that other scheduled events remain unaffected, including the Youth Talent Development Day alias Kyakere Carnival scheduled for October 18, and the Nyabaghole Day due on October 20, 2026.

Kule reminded the kingdom subjects, well-wishers, and government that on the new date fixed for the coronation anniversary, other major activities that will be done include Omusinga's birthday run and launching of the construction works of a new palace for the kingdom.
