PADER - Police detectives in Pader district are hunting for 14 people over a suspected robbery of 10 cattle in Atwoto Village, Ajan Sub-County on August 17th.

Joe Oloyo (Inspector), the Aswa East Police Public Relations Officer, said that the case has been recorded at Pajul Police Station, but did not reveal the case reference number.

According to Inspector Oloyo, it is alleged that the suspects launched a revenge attack on members of Pa-gol Clan in Tikilingo Village, whom they accused of murdering one Charles Okot on July 26, 2025, a case registered and being investigated at Pader Police Station.

Oloyo revealed that whereas the same matter is being handled by Acholi Chief to mediate the conflicting groups, the aggrieved family contested the ruling.

Consequently, a group from the aggrieved family confiscated livestock and poultry belonging to the Pa-gol clan. The victims reported that 10 heads of cattle and some chickens were stolen in the raid.

According to Aloyo, the raid aggravated the conflict and also caused more delays for the Okot's burial, which had been scheduled for August 18.  The body remains at Yotkom Hospital mortuary in Kitgum Municipal.

A case of aggravated robbery was registered at Pajule Police Station in Pajule Town Council, Pader district on Monday, August 18, 2025 and the scene was visited by Deputy SOCO led by Inspector Jimmy Omara, Officer in Charge of Pajule Police Station, where 10 cows were recovered and left with the Chairman Local Council (L.C 1) of Byece Village for Safe Custody.

A few dead chickens were also recovered from the suspects.
