KAMPALA - The minister of Local Government Baalam Barugahara Ateenyi has called upon the children, all relatives and friends of the late Paul Kafeero to report to the Uganda Police Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala as the results of the DNA tests on the deceased singer’s children an unveiled tomorrow, Thursday June 25, 2026. According to Baruhagara, the results will be released at 11:00am.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the New Vision, Balaam urged family members, friends and associates to the late Paul Kafeero to attend the upcoming public disclosure of DNA results.
“I call upon all children who submitted DNA swabs and their biological mothers, I also encourage friends of the late Paul Kafeero such as Mesach Ssemakula, Aloysius Matovu Joy, Andrew Benon kibuuka and the late’s brothers to attend the event,” the minister said.
The minister, who says he was a friend and promoter of the Kadongokamu musician, says it is important to know the biological children of Kafeero for them to benefit from the estate.
“We shall start with counseling by the government analytical laboratory and reports from the police and analytical laboratory on the methods they used in the testing processes,” Baruhagara stated.
The bitter family conflict surrounding the estate of Prince Paul Kafeero goes back to 19 years ago when family members started fighting over his property.
The “Golden Boy of Africa” left behind a massive musical legacy that was overshadowed when more than 25 individuals claimed to be his biologically children. “I can’t count all my siblings, but recently, I was told there are more coming,” said Swarz Kafeero, in an interview recently.
The internal warfare intensified when private DNA tests of an initial group allegedly excluded most of them, prompting the disgruntled siblings to sue the recognized administrators for locking them out and unlawfully selling off family homes and extensive acreage across Kajjansi, Kyaggwe and Buikwe.
On 1st, June,2026, the long running dispute reached its climax when authorities exhumed Kafeero’s remains in Nkokonjeru, Mukono District for DNA testing. Barugahara funded the DNA tests.
