TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

-First Reading – Jeremiah 20:10-13 Jeremiah is mocked and threatened: “Denounce him!” But he says, “The Lord is with me like a mighty champion.” He trusts God will defeat his enemies. God protects those who suffer for speaking truth.

-Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 69:8-10, 14, 17, 33-35R. Lord, in your great love, answer me.“I pray to you, O Lord, for the time of your favor… Answer me, O Lord, for your kindness is good.

-Second Reading – Romans 5:12-15 Through Adam sin came into the world, and death through sin. But God’s free gift in Christ Jesus far outweighs Adam’s offense. Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.

 Christ’s grace is greater than sin.
-Gospel Acclamation – John 15:26b, 27a  Alleluia, alleluia. The Spirit of truth will testify to me, says the Lord; and you also will testify.

-Gospel – Matthew 10:26-33 Jesus says, “Do not be afraid… Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one falls without your Father’s knowledge. Even the hairs of your head are counted. Whoever acknowledges me, I will acknowledge before my Father.

 Trust God’s care. Don’t fear speaking for Him: God knows every detail of your life and gives grace stronger than sin. So fear no one, but witness boldly.
