Kabojja International School was transformed into a colourful cultural playground as learners, parents and teachers came together for the school’s annual Cultural Day.

From traditional outfits and energetic dance performances to music, storytelling and mouth-watering dishes, the two-day celebration offered a vibrant showcase of cultures under the theme “Embracing Cultural Diversity as a People".

The event was held separately for the junior and senior sections, giving learners across the school an opportunity to celebrate their heritage while discovering the traditions of others.

On Friday, October 2, learners from Early Years, Cambridge Primary and the IB Primary Years Programme kicked off the festivities with a colourful display of culture, creativity and talent.

The Senior School followed on Saturday, October 3, with learners from Cambridge High School and the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes taking centre stage.

Dressed in an array of traditional outfits representing different communities and cultures, the learners turned the school grounds into a mini cultural festival.

They entertained guests with music, dance, storytelling, traditional foods and cultural presentations, with each performance offering a glimpse into the traditions and identities that make up the school community.

Parents were not left on the sidelines either. They joined learners and teachers, sharing stories, traditions and experiences and adding their own flavour to the colourful celebrations.

But beyond the vibrant costumes, energetic performances and festive atmosphere, the Cultural Day carried a bigger message.

The school used the event to encourage learners to appreciate their own cultural backgrounds while respecting and embracing people from different communities and parts of the world.

Through the celebration, learners explored values such as respect, inclusion, empathy and global awareness, learning that cultural differences can bring people together rather than drive them apart.

For many learners, the day offered a chance to step outside the traditional classroom and experience culture in a more colourful and interactive way.

By the time the celebrations came to an end, Kabojja had once again demonstrated that learning can happen through a dance, a story, a traditional meal or even the clothes people wear.
