Fashion designer Anita Beryl Says ‘I Do’ in dream Italian Wedding

Ugandan fashion designer Anita Beryl has stepped into a new chapter of her love story, exchanging vows with financial consultant Richard Ekoot in a lavish wedding celebration in Italy.

The wedding, set against a stunning mountainous backdrop, added an international touch to the couple’s marriage celebrations, which began with traditional Ankole rites earlier this year.

Photographs shared online show the Beryl Couture creative director beaming beside her groom in a pink bridal gown and a flowing veil. Ekoot complemented his bride in a dark blue suit, white shirt and tie, as the couple posed against the picturesque Italian scenery.

The images captured a romantic moment worthy of a wedding album, drawing congratulatory messages from social media users.

“It was a lovely event, I must say!!” wrote X user Cecile, alongside a photograph from the celebration.

For Beryl, whose fashion house is known for bridal gowns and elegant evening wear, the occasion was particularly special. Having built a name dressing other brides for their big days, the designer found herself at the centre of her own fairytale wedding.

The Italian celebration in Como  follows a series of important milestones in the couple’s journey to marriage.

In January, Ekoot was formally introduced to Beryl’s parents, Rev. Emmanuel Ahabwe and Jean Ahabwe, during a family ceremony at their home in Masheeruka, Sheema District.

The event marked an important step towards marriage, bringing the families together ahead of the couple’s traditional Ankole wedding celebrations.

Ekoot, a son of the late John Temel from Kumi District, also caught public attention when he surprised Beryl with a pink Range Rover, adding a splash of glamour to their romance.

Although the exact Italian venue and wedding date have not been established, the photographs offer a glimpse into the couple’s special day.
