Comedy fans pack Serena for Salvado, Dr Hilary Okello’s ‘2 Kings, One Mic’

Comedy fans filled Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday night as comedians Patrick Salvado and Dr Hilary Okello brought their contrasting styles of humour to the stage for the much-anticipated 2 Kings, One Mic show.

Some fans arrived as early as 6:00pm, enjoying welcome cocktails courtesy of sponsor Uganda Waragi ahead of the show, which kicked off at 8:30pm. By then, the venue was packed, with fans ready for a night of laughter.

Female stand-up comedian Cotilda Inapo opened the show, warming up the audience before handing over to fellow comedian Okello Okello.

Dr Okello took the third slot, serving up his trademark storytelling and sharp observations about everyday life. Salvado followed with the crowning performance, bringing his commanding stage presence and polished delivery to the stage.

Both headliners rose to the occasion, drawing enthusiastic reactions from the audience and earning a standing ovation as fans celebrated the comedy double act.

The evening brought together two distinct comic approaches: Dr Okello’s relatable storytelling and observational humour, and Salvado’s energetic stagecraft and commanding delivery. Rather than compete for the spotlight, the two gave fans a showcase of different flavours of comedy on one stage.

Others in attendance were Phiona Nyamutoro, State Minister for Energy and Mineral Development; former Minister Evelyn Anite; and distinguished lawyer Francis Gimara, among other guests.
