Arua mourns former MP Haruna Emaga

ARUA - Former Member of Parliament in the then Arua Municipality 1989-1996, Haruna Emaga has passed on.

Close family sources indicate that Mzee Emaga passed on last night at Arua Regional Referral Hospital after a short illness.

According to the Prime minister of the Aringa Chiefdom Lemeriga Fadhil, the deceased in the 1970s served as the manager of General Motors, an American company importing cars from Europe and the United States for sale in Uganda.

Lemeriga says Emaga worked had to provide employment opportunities to several people in the West Nile subregion.

He also competed in the Constituency Assembly delegate’s position but lost to Hon Zubeir Atamvaku.

Lemeriga says the remains of the late Emaga will be interred today March 11, 2025, at their ancestral home in Lima in Koboko District.
