Uganda’s 2026 election campaign trail gathered momentum as opposition presidential candidates took their messages to different parts of the country.

Alliance for National Transformation's (ANT) Gregory Mugisha Muntu weighed in on governance and transition of power while campaigning in Mbale.



National Unity Platform's (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi rallied supporters in Mpigi, highlighting local challenges and calling for unity, peace and accountable leadership.

National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi was warmly received by supporters in Mpigi during his mobilisation drive. He addressed residents’ concerns, including poor roads, low agricultural prices, youth unemployment and corruption, called for unity, peace and active civic participation ahead of the 2026 elections, commented on the Walukagga candidature dispute, and later campaigned for Mpigi district chairman Martin Ssejjemba in Mawokota South.
