UGANDA ELECTIONS 2026

Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has met international election observers on the eve of the 2026 General Election.

The January 14, 2026, meeting at Kyagulanyi's home in Magere, Wakiso district involved election observer missions from the African Union (AU), the East African Community (EAC), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

The observer teams, led by former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan, are in Uganda to monitor the electoral process.

The teams did not address the media afterwards.

Registered voters will begin by electing their next president and Members of Parliament on Thursday (January 15), before moving on to other elective positions in subsequent weeks — all the way until February 6.
