Presidential candidates on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, continued their nationwide campaigns across several regions, delivering contrasting messages to voters with President Yoweri Museveni focusing on oil-led development and long-term wealth creation in Bunyoro, while NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi rallied supporters on a message of change and accountability in western Uganda, and FDC’s Nathan Nandala Mafabi engaged voters in Kigezi on his party’s vision for inclusive governance.

NRM presidential candidate President Yoweri Museveni campaigned in Kagadi, Kikuube and Hoima City, where he emphasised prudent management of Uganda’s oil resources, urging communities in Bunyoro to actively benefit through long-term investments, wealth-creation programs such as PDM, Emyooga, OWC and GROW, and industrialisation.

Museveni warned against spending oil revenues on short-term demands, noting the resource will last about 20 years, and announced plans for an additional industrial park in Bunyoro dedicated to food production alongside the Kabalega petroleum park.

NUP candidate Robert Kyagulanyi campaigned in Kitagwenda, Kamwenge, and Ibanda. National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu was warmly received by NUP supporters in Ibanda District on Saturday during his nationwide mobilisation drive, with supporters lining streets and following his convoy on foot and boda bodas. Addressing supporters at Nyakateete playground, Kyagulanyi thanked residents for the reception, saying it signalled a growing demand for change, unity and accountable leadership. He highlighted key challenges in the Ankole sub-region, including poor road infrastructure, low agricultural prices, youth unemployment and corruption, and urged supporters to remain peaceful as they pursue reform.
