The Senegalese team jetted in at Entebbe Airport on Wednesday night ahead of their high-stakes CHAN quarter final match against the Uganda Cranes at Namboole on Saturday.
The delegation including players, officials and fans touched down at 8.30pm, and were welcomed by the local organising committee members with addition support from a traditional troupe that has been stationed at the airport to welcome all teams.
The delegation was enthused by the kind of reception they received before heading to their hotel in Kampala.

“As a host nation we are very happy to receive them and we can’t wait to see them in action against the Uganda Cranes who have made history by reaching the quarter finals for the first time,” Mark Namanya, the CHAN AFCON Secretariat PR & Communications Manager said.
“As a host nation we have been very hospitable and receptive to all our visitors and for us as a country that boards well for Uganda chances ahead of 2027 when we shall be co-hosting the AFCON tournament and in every sense all Ugandans should be proud of what the country has been able to pull off this month,”
According to the fixture released by the Confederation of African football (CAF), Kenya will face Madagascar in Nairobi on Friday, while Tanzania goes up against Morocco in Dar es Salaam. Uganda’s showdown with Senegal closes out the round on Saturday, followed by Sudan clashing with Algeria in Zanzibar.
