Old Kampala Futsal Arena witnessed an electrifying clash between Futsal Super League champions Mengo City and defending Super Cup champions Park FC in a thrilling championship final.

The match delivered high drama as Park FC narrowly avoided a historic comeback from Mengo City, who found themselves trailing 5-1 at halftime.

Park FC got off to a flying start, with danger man Joshua Asiku opening the scoring in the 4th minute. Seconds later, they doubled their lead following a goalkeeping error by Mengo City’s Paul Baguma.

In the 6th minute, playmaker Shafiq Mulangira made it 3-0 with a well-executed finish after a slick team move involving attacker Aziku.

As Mengo City pushed for a consolation goal, Michael Abura capitalized on another defensive lapse, earning his side a free-kick opportunity. However, this did not deter Mengo City’s hopes, as Abdulkareem Tebera pulled one back in the 15th minute to spark a potential comeback.

Aziku completed his first-half hat-trick with a simple tap-in, sending Park FC into the halftime break with a commanding 5-1 lead.

Early in the second half, Mengo City introduced John Musasizi, who quickly made an impact by reducing the deficit to 5-3 after Tebera had converted a penalty to make it 5-2.

With just five minutes remaining, Muluya struck twice for Park FC, extending their lead to 7-3. However, Mengo City responded fiercely, with captain Anthony Male and goalkeeper Stuart Kafuluma scoring in quick succession to bring the score to 7-6.

The result marked Park FC’s second Super Cup triumph, having won the inaugural edition last year.
