Stanbic Uganda Cup 2025 – Quarter-Final

Kitara vs BUL (3:00PM)
Royals Park Stadium, Hoima

Kitara FC assistant coach George William Lutalo has expressed confidence as the club gears up to face BUL FC in the quarter-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Sunday, April 20, at the Royals Park Stadium in Hoima.

The defending champions are determined to stay on course for back-to-back titles despite recent challenges in front of goal.

“Our target is to defend the trophy. We have been facing scoring issues and have worked and trained on that,” Lutalo said.

Kitara reached this stage after edging FUFA Big League side Gaddafi FC 2-1 in a hard-fought match played at the Entebbe Works Grounds. At this same point last season, they knocked out SC Villa with a convincing 2-0 win at the Masindi Stadium.

Coach Lutalo acknowledged the strength of their opponents but stressed that Kitara is fully prepared. “BUL is a good team and has been in this tournament for a while, but we are ready and well-prepared, and the players are in good condition,” he added.

Kitara has struggled against BUL in league encounters, losing three of their last four meetings. But with the cup title on the line, the Royals will be pushing for a breakthrough and a spot in the semi-finals. Should the match end in a draw after normal time, extra time will be played to determine the winner.
