Kitara FC have secured the services of Uganda Cranes forward Shaban Muhammad on a two-year deal.
Shaban returns to the Uganda Premier League as a free agent after parting ways with Ethiopia Bunna FC last week. The prolific striker is reportedly set to earn sh280 million in sign-on fees, spread across the duration of his contract.
His arrival signals serious ambition from Kitara, who are increasingly positioning themselves as genuine title contenders.
The Wasswa Bbosa-coached side currently trails table leaders Vipers SC by just three points, albeit having played one game fewer.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s most lethal forwards, Shaban’s signing eases the attacking responsibility previously shouldered by Patrick Kaddu.
Over the years, he has built a reputation as a reliable goalscorer, impressing in separate spells at Onduparaka FC and KCCA FC.
The experienced striker has also featured for Vipers SC, Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, as well as Libyan sides Al Hilal Benghazi and Al Anwar.
With his pedigree, experience and eye for goal, Shaban’s return could prove decisive in Kitara’s pursuit of domestic glory as the title race intensifies.
