KCCA FC has officially parted ways with former captain Julius Poloto, bringing to an end a 10-year journey that began in 2015 at the KCCA FC Soccer Academy.

Poloto, who rose through the ranks before being promoted to the senior team by coach Mike Hillary Mutebi, leaves Lugogo with 11 trophies to his name.

He was handed the full captaincy in August 2023, cementing his place as a leader both on and off the pitch.

“Now, as he mutually parts ways with KCCA FC, the emotions are bittersweet. It marks the end of an era, but not the end of a legacy. The memories will forever be etched in the minds of the KCCA FC faithful.” KCCA said in a statement.

“Julius Poloto will always be the heart of the club, our true son, and a permanent fixture in the great history of KCCA FC. Thank you, Julius Poloto, for a decade of memories, and all the best in the future.”

During his time at Lugogo, Poloto won two Uganda Premier League titles (2017 and 2019), back-to-back Uganda Cups (2017 and 2018), and played a key role in KCCA’s golden era.

His most famous moment came in 2018 when he scored the winning goal in the Uganda Cup final against Vipers, securing a record 10th title for the club.

Poloto also represented Uganda at the U17, U20, and U23 levels before breaking into the senior national team, the Cranes.
