NEW JERSEY - Throughout the month-long World Cup, Uganda did not shine until halftime of the final between Spain and Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, US, last night (July 19, 2026).
It was then that the Ghetto Kids, a dance group that needs no introduction, appeared alongside Shakira and Burna Boy.
For those few minutes, the group backed the two superstars in the performance of the Dai Dai song. Although the youngest, they were not shadowed by the bigger dancers.

Noticeably, the Ghetto Kids took front stage for most of the time.
From the performance, there was no denying that they had rehearsed hard with Shakira, for they danced in sync. It was not the same for Burna Boy, who seemed offbeat with the group.

The group was among many others that had earlier applied to Shakira to perform with her at the World Cup final. Shortly before the World Cup kicked off in June, the group faced fears that their dream of performing at the World Cup would not come true.
It was then that the Ebola outbreak was announced in DR Congo and Uganda, and the US placed strict restrictions on people travelling from Uganda. However, the group finally travelled to Ecuador, where they spent 21 days in quarantine.
