The Vienna Titans football team's new chapter began with more than just fresh kits last Saturday – it marked an emotional reunion of alumni passion and youthful ambition.
Inspired by Vienna College Namugongo's legendary Royals League (2000-2005), alumnus Godfrey Bwogi Kimera helped transform the Titans into a living legacy.
"This is about reconnecting with what made our school days special," said Kimera, now part of the management team.
The alumni-backed squad made an immediate impact, drawing 0-0 with KISU Lions before edging Aga Khan 47z 1-0 to maintain their unbeaten streak. "The boys played with heart," said coordinator Richard Magezi Jr.
The sidelines told a deeper story. Alumni cheered as players wore new Vienna-branded jerseys, creating what Kimera called "a perfect circle of support." Players reportedly refused substitutions, energized by the vocal backing.
The revival stems from organized alumni networks including the Old Pals Investment Club, which has contributed over sh3 million. "This team rebuilds bonds," said OPIC's Eng. Ntimba Michael.
Beyond football, the Titans have become a mentorship hub. "They're my weekend therapy," Kimera joked, noting plans to formalize alumni structures and encourage corporate-style sponsorship.
With strong support and undefeated form, the Titans aren't just chasing trophies – they're rekindling the Vienna spirit. "We've opened the door," Ntimba said. "Now we walk through together."
