After winning the Entebbe Club MTN Tee of Tees Monthly Tournament last December, Esther Aganyira expressed her enthusiasm for the competition and committed to playing consistently to lower her handicap of 27.
This year, she has participated in three monthly events, missing only the February tournament, yet she has remained in the top ten in the order of merit.
On Saturday, Aganyira improved her ranking by achieving an overall winning score of 61 nett off a handicap of 26, outperforming a field of 187 competitors.

“My strength in the game is taking it easy; I just come to enjoy it, and I'm not so competitive. I just enjoy the good and bad shots; I'm never serious, and that's how it somehow gives me success, because I don't swear at the bad shots as some people do,” Aganyira shared after her December victory.
The order of merit in the ladies' section remains closely contested, with Jovia Tugume, Anne Abeja, Nice Janda, and Phionah Namanya also returning to the podium in groups A and B, setting up a competitive first quarter. The men’s division remains very competitive, with Saturday’s action producing another set of winners in Groups A and C.
Joseph Adrapi led the men’s Group A with 68 net, beating Paul Kalemba by three strokes, while Tesfaye Gurmu beat Ronald Gayiya on count back in Group C after they all carded 66nett. In Group B, Mathias Zungu, who was the runner-up to Charles Odere in the March competition, returned as the winner this time with a 67nett, beating Musa Baguma (68) by a stroke.
