The Arua city security leadership, under the leadership of Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Salim Kumakech, has reaffirmed its readiness to ensure a peaceful and orderly NRM primary election process.
Addressing the press at his office on July 16, 2025, Kumakech warned that any individuals planning to incite violence within the party structures or disrupt the electoral process will face firm action from security forces.
The RCC emphasised the need for all candidates and their supporters to maintain discipline and allow the democratic process to unfold peacefully.
The ruling National Resistance Movement party will Thursday, July 17, 2025, hold its primaries for Members of Parliament. The winners are expected to carry the party's flag come the 2026 national general election.
