US honours Minister Namuganza for championing human rights

“I am really humbled to receive this award, and I’m grateful that the US was able to recognise me and this government for what we do for the people. I therefore urge you all Ugandans to vote for President Museveni to protect our gains,” she remarked.

In her remarks, Namugaza thanked the United States for recognising her and urged Ugandans to vote for President Museveni come January 15, 2026, during the Presidential elections.

KAMPALA - The United States government has honoured Uganda's State Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Percis Namuganza, with a Human Rights award.

His Eminence Dr. Madhu Krishan, the Eminent Scientist, Global Leader of Global Peace, presented the 2025 Award to Namuganza today at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

Krishan, who was in attendance with a delegation from the US, commended the minister (Namuganza) for what he termed her courageous effort to advocate for the freedoms of the oppressed across Africa.

“This award is given to exceptional personnel on humanitarian grounds, and Minister Namuganza deserves the same,” he said.

According to  Krishan, Namuganza’s receipt of the award followed his earlier visit to the Pearl of Africa, where he held a meeting with President Yoweri Museveni.

During the meeting, Krishan was impressed with how the President praised Namuganza’s dedication to serving the nation, prompting research on her (Namuganza) works towards the populace, thereby being awarded by the US for her exceptional work towards the disadvantaged.
