WAKISO - Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) on Friday evening said they had arrested a boda rider who was caught on a viral video defiling an eight-year-old in Wakiso district.
KMP spokesperson Rachael Kawala said the suspect was arrested following a video that was circulating on social media.
“Following a video circulating on social media showing a man allegedly defiling a female juvenile, Police in Wakiso have arrested the suspect seen in the footage. He is being held in connection with the aggravated defilement of an 8-year-old girl,” Kawala said.
She said the incident occurred on April 16, 2026, in Mabombwe village, Mabombwe parish, Mende subcounty, Wakiso district.

“The suspect has been identified as Moses Ssebagala, a boda boda rider who resides in Mabombwe village.
It is alleged that the victim was outside with her sister when the suspect approached them. He gave the children a phone to watch cartoons and placed the eight-year-old victim on his lap, where he was seen defiling her," Kawala added.
She said police strongly condemn all forms of child abuse.
“We urge parents and guardians to remain vigilant and closely supervise their children at all times,” Kawala stated.
