TORORO - In a plot twist reeking of lust and betrayal, the Ikaruwok Isama clan of Osukuru town council in Tororo district served up a scandalous saga on July 5, 2025.
At the centre of it all? Paul Etiang, a man whose alleged sinful act—a steamy liaison with his daughter-in-law—left the clan members clutching their Malwa jugs.
Trouble started after Etiang, fresh from emceeing his grandmother’s funeral fundraiser, allegedly lured Lucy Apaderet, his brother’s daughter-in-law and mother of four (including a one-month-old), into his home for an act deemed an “abomination” under Iteso cultural law.
Eyewitnesses claimed before court presided by clan chairperson Raymond Enaat that Etiang lured Apaderet, a mother of four and wife to his brother’s son John Patrick Tanga, into his house from where they allegedly conducted an unlawful act.
Enaat said the actions were an abomination and unacceptable in the clan and Iteso culture, and it necessitated him to sermon the clan members, neighbours and Iteso Cultural Union (ICU) members to see how to address the challenge before them.
