The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uganda has celebrated its annual National Armed Forces Day in style, showcasing traditional Korean culture, attire, cuisine and beer.
The event was during a cocktail dinner at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The colourful event attracted several dignitaries, including members of the diplomatic corps and government officials.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa (right), with the Korean Ambassador to Uganda Park Sung-Soo (middle), the Deputy Minister of Land, Housing and Urban Development, Persis Namuganza at Sheraton Hotel. 
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Uganda, I wish to convey the warm greetings and best wishes of His Excellency, General Yoweri Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda,” Tayebwa said.
“I also take this opportunity to commend the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uganda for its unwavering dedication to strengthening the deep and friendly ties between our two countries,” he added.
The event was also attended by housing state minister Persis Namuganza, Karamoja minister Peter Lokeris and foreign affairs state minister Okello Oryem, among other high-ranking officials and military officers from various countries.
Tayebwa hailed the occasion as a celebration not only of Korea’s national sovereignty but also of the professionalism and resilience of its armed forces.
