Details about the exact cause of the accident remained scanty by press time. However, the family was travelling together in their family car, a Toyota Land Cruiser, which overturned.

KAMPALA - Prominent Masaka City tycoon and businessman Bosco Bitanda and his two children died on Monday (March 16), following a single-vehicle crash along the Mpala section of the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway.
A fourth victim, a woman, was rushed to hospital with severe injuries, according to Egis Road Operation, the contracted firm responsible for operating and maintaining the 26.2km Kampala-Entebbe Expressway.
In a statement released on Monday, Egis said, “earlier today, a single-vehicle crash occurred along the Mpala section of the Expressway.
The vehicle was travelling from Masaka towards the Airport when the driver reportedly dozed off due to fatigue after a long-distance journey. Tragically, three occupants lost their lives, while one sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.”
Egis said its incident response team worked closely with police to secure the scene and manage traffic.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wish the injured a speedy recovery. Motorists are reminded to rest fully before long-distance travel, avoid driving while fatigued, and observe speed limits,” the statement noted.
