The vibrant ceremony, filled with cheers and celebration, saw Lubaale accompanied by his wife, Clare Lubaale and children, as he succeeded retiring Bishop Paul Samson Naimanhye.

Archbishop Kazimba, in his address, expressed gratitude for the large turnout and welcomed Bishop Lubaale to the House of Bishops.

He stressed themes of unity, stability, and peace for the Busoga region, which is rich in resources like the River Nile.

Desist from electoral violence

Kazimba also cautioned youth against election-related violence, advocating peaceful political engagement despite differing affiliations, likening it to supporting rival football teams while maintaining love and mutual support.

Lubaale acknowledged predecessors and outlined priorities, including good governance, capacity building, resource mobilisation, and socioeconomic transformation in line with government programs.

Lubaale promised to work with Busoga Kingdom to promote the “Abasadha N’empaango” meaning “Men are the Pillars” programme implemented by Kyabazinga initiatives geared at fighting to reduce teenage pregnancies and school dropouts in Busoga and the country at large.

Naimanhye expressed gratitude for his tenure.

Vice-President Jessica Alupo, who represented President Yoweri Museveni, was joined by Lubaale and his wife, plus other Bishops, to cut a cake that was served to thousands who attended the open-air ceremony at the stadium.

The cake was made by the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development (PIBID), led by Prof. Florence Isabirye Muranga.

The event underscored the Church's role in community development and its collaboration with the Government to address poverty in the Busoga sub-region.
