Kampala Catholics boost Lubaga Cathedral centennial celebration with sh224m

On Wednesday (August 6), Christians from the various parishes in the Kampala Vicariate made a pilgrimage of faith to the cathedral, during which they declared their donation of shillings 240 million towards the renovation and preparation of the celebration.

As the grand celebration of the centenary of Lubaga Cathedral draws closer, Christians have continued to offer generous contributions towards the preparation of the grand function that is slated for October 26.

On Wednesday (August 6), Christians from the various parishes in the Kampala Vicariate made a pilgrimage of faith to the cathedral, during which they declared their donation of shillings 224 million towards the renovation and preparation of the celebration of the centenary of Lubaga Cathedral.

The money was received by Kampala Archdiocese Vicar General Msgr Rogers Kabuye, who later presided over the Eucharistic celebration in the Cathedral.

Meanwhile, the renovations on the cathedral have already started. Construction of the two-level parking yard at the cathedral has also started.

The Cathedral’s centennial chairprson, Eng. Pius Mugalaasi assured the Christians that all the renovations on the cathedral will be completed by October 26, the day of the celebration.

At least shillings 2.4 billion is required to pull off the celebrations.
