Christians urged to cleanse hearts as Holy Week starts
During his homily, he urged Christians to prepare their hearts for Jesus through radical conversion and adherence to the will of God.

Hundreds of Christians on Sunday (March 29) flocked to their respective churches to celebrate Palm Sunday, on which Christendom commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.
The day also marks the beginning of Holy Week, which will culminate in Easter Sunday.
Lubaga Cathedral
At Lubaga Cathedral, the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, High Mass was presided over by the assistant cathedral administrator, Fr Marvin Lukyamuzi. During his homily, he urged Christians to prepare their hearts for Jesus through radical conversion and adherence to the will of God.

“Clean your hearts so that Jesus can enter and dwell in them. Shun all evil practices that jeopardise your relationship with God; vices such as corruption, hatred, anger, tribalism, ill-will, hypocrisy, violence, thuggery, immorality, just to mention a few. Songwriters, please write songs which strengthen people’s faith. Film-makers and playwrights, please do the same. Don’t write plays that promote immorality. And you dear leaders of the people, don’t be selfish. Be fair and just as you lead the people. Follow the example of Jesus, who exhibited humility when he was entering Jerusalem. Don’t oppress the people. Be their servant. Work to solve their needs,” Lukyamuzi said.
Lukyamuzi also asked Christians to continue with the practices of the Lenten season, namely prayer, fasting, charity and penance, in order to resurrect with Christ.
During the Mass, Christians made a special collection, the proceeds of which will be sent to Pope Leo XIV to support the needy.

The Palm Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church Nabbingo was presided over by Fr Dr Joseph Mary Ssebunnya, who urged Christians to remain committed to their faith.
