KAMPALA - Police have dismissed reports suggesting that National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, is facing criminal charges or is under investigation.
Responding to questions from journalists during a briefing today, February 23, 2026, at the headquarters of the Uganda Police Force in Naguru, Kampala, Police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma said there are currently no charges levelled against Kyagulanyi.
“I will only communicate what I have been officially briefed on. As we speak today, there are no charges against him. If there were any, it would be at this very forum that I would come and announce them, just as we have done before,” Kituuma said during the question-and-answer session.
Kituuma added that if police were to prefer charges against any individual, due process would be followed, including summoning or arresting the person in question. (Credit: Mpalanyi Ssentongo)
