Followers of Jesus Christ in Ankole Diocese have been asked to use the Way of the Cross period to renew their faith.
The call was made by the Bishop of Ankole diocese, Rt Rev. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa, who led the Wy of the Cross procession which started from Nyamityobora Church of Uganda and ended at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara City North division.
Bishop Mwesigwa also urged Christians to use this period to repent their sins, emphasising that God will forgive them.

He was accompanied by the dean of St. James Cathedral, Rev Canon Bobs Mwesigye and Diocesan secretary Rev. Canon. Edson Abasa.
Bishop Mwesigwa also prayed for peace and unity in the country and the world. He challenged Christians to distance themselves from all temptations that would lead them into sin.
In his words, Rev Canon Bob Nathan Mwesigye thanked Christians for turning up in big numbers to participate in the Way of the Cross processions and asked them to use this period to forgive each other.

On the Catholic side, the procession, which started at Nyamityobora Catholic church, was led by Uganda Martyrs Parish priest Fr. Didus Kasapuri.
He was accompanied by other priests, laity council, catechists and thousands of Christians.
