KISORO - Kisoro Municipality Town Clerk, Richard Mugisha, has asked the District Service Commission to recruit more health workers to serve the growing population.
He made the call on Tuesday during an inspection of two staff quarters under construction at Zindiro Health Centre III in the Northern Division.
The sh300 million project aims at improving security and providing accommodation for health workers.
According to municipal authorities, once completed, the staff quarters will make it easier for medical personnel to conduct night shifts and be readily available to attend to patients.

During a site visit to assess progress, Kisoro Municipality Town Clerk Richard Mugisha said the oversight was intended to ensure that construction is proceeding as planned.
Mugisha noted that the new staff quarters will provide decent accommodation for health workers and enhance service delivery, particularly at night.
He added that Zindiro Health Centre III serves a large population, including residents from neighbouring countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
He expressed optimism that by the end of March, the facility will have more staff to strengthen healthcare services.
Meanwhile, Project Manager Sebahire Christopher urged the contractor, Shorero Company Limited, to prioritise the health and safety of workers at the construction site. He emphasised that all workers must use proper protective gear while on duty.
