Indoor air pollution kills around 13,000 Ugandans annually
Experts said exposure indoor air pollution namely; cooking with biomass fuels, such as firewood, charcoal, kerosene, in addition to household waste over a period of time leads to respiratory infections, chronic lung disease, eye problems, cardiovascular complications and cancer.
According to Aarakit, about 66% of Uganda’s population faces energy poverty, with more than 90% of households and small enterprises relying on traditional fuels such as firewood, paraffin and charcoal.
