Young artists smile their way to the bank at Toto Festival colouring contest

The Toto Christmas Festival once again proved to be a cradle of creativity as young artists participated in the mind-engaging colouring competition.

Amid the music, laughter and end-of-year cheer at Kampala Parents’ School - sports ground, three exceptional children stood out for their artistic talent and attention to detail.

Emerging as the overall winner was Yvonne Majourine Baluka, who walked away with sh500,000. Her artwork impressed the judges with its bold strokes, careful shading and imaginative interpretation of the theme.

Baluka, calm but beaming, said she was excited to earn recognition for something she truly enjoys: “I love colouring because it makes me happy and helps me imagine new things,” she said.

In second place was Adriel Mulinda, who took home sh300,000. Adriel’s piece was praised for its neatness and excellent colour blending. His parents said they had always known he had a natural gift for art.

Alice Nattabi secured the third position, winning sh200,000. Her artwork stood out for its creativity and vibrant use of colour. Alice said the competition motivated her to keep practising so she can become even better.

The colouring contest is a favourite of the festival’s most loved activities, encouraging young children to express themselves freely through art while embracing fun and learning. For many of these budding artists, today’s win marks the beginning of a journey in creative discovery.

The Toto Christmas Festival was sponsored by Ruparelia Group, Sumz, NIRA, Toyota, Pepsi and Indomie. With only sh10,000 for entry, children enjoyed a full day of meaningful celebration, closing the school year in style.
