The untold life story of Philly Lutaaya
The rebellious streak in Philly Lutaaya manifested itself in gruesomeness in 1968, when, aged just 17, in Senior Three at Kololo SS, he informed the family that he was dropping out of school to pursue music.
Lutaaya revealed he was HIV positive at a press conference in Kampala in 1989.
KAMPALA - Lutaaya became a national hero because he was the first Ugandan to declare that he was HIV-positive. Today, Joseph Batte writes about his life.
