Leone Island singer Jose Chameleone has undergone eye surgery.
On Tuesday, 17 February, the 48-year-old musician took to X to share a mirror selfie for his 480,000 followers, showing himself with a bandage on the left eye.
He wrote an accompanying caption: “I thank you, God, for another morning! I thank Dr Ludovica Tindebwa and the entire Kampala Eye LASIK Hospital team for my eye surgery and your hospitality. I was rapidly losing my sight in my right eye... I seek your healing as always, my Lord."
Chameleone’s eye surgery comes after several health scares in the recent past, primarily related to severe abdominal complications liver and pancreas issues, often linked to previous lifestyle factors.
As of early 2025, he sought specialised treatment in the United States following acute pancreatitis, leading to a temporary break from performing to recover.
Before, he was hospitalised at Nakasero Hospital with critical, severe abdominal pain. Due to the severity, he was later flown to the US for further treatment of acute pancreatitis.
Many were quick to wish him a quick recovery, with @dokitasharon tweeting, “Quick recovery, our legend; you deserve 112 years of long healthy life on earth."
