Police clear over 170 fireworks display points in Acholi
At least 145 display points have been cleared across the districts of Lamwo, Agago, Kitgum and Pader, while 28 have been cleared across Gulu, Nwoya, Amuru districts and Gulu city, according to Police report.

ACHOLI - Police say they have cleared over 170 points for the display of fireworks during the crossover night into the New Year 2026 in Acholi region.
At least 145 display points have been cleared across the districts of Lamwo, Agago, Kitgum and Pader, while 28 have been cleared across Gulu, Nwoya, Amuru districts and Gulu city, according to Police report.
Aswa East region Police spokesperson Joe Oloya, today, December 31, 2025, said the figures remain tentative and may change at any time depending on additional approvals or withdrawals.
Similarly, David Mudong Ongom, the Aswa West region Police spokesperson, said at least 28 fireworks display points have so far been cleared in West Acholi with more expected to be cleared.
