SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
This feast comes right after Pentecost and celebrates God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – Three Persons, One God.
-First Reading – Exodus 34:4b-6, 8-9; God reveals Himself to Moses on Sinai: “I, the LORD, am a God of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and rich in kindness and faithfulness.” Moses bows and asks God to go with His people.
- Responsorial Psalm – Daniel 3:52, 53, 54, 55, 56; Oh praise the Lord, Jerusalem!, Blessed are you, Lord God of our fathers. Blessed is your holy name, praiseworthy forever.
-Second Reading – 2 Corinthians 13:11-13; Paul’s final greeting: “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” A classic Trinitarian blessing.
Gospel Acclamation – Revelation 1:8; Alleluia, alleluia., Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; to God who is, who was, and who is to come.
-Gospel – John 3:16-18; Jesus explains God’s saving love: “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” The Son was sent not to condemn, but to save.
