Rising music star Faymous, real name Brian Matsiko is living proof that passion and determination are the essential ingredients for success.

The artiste, currently riding high on the hit single Gundeeze, a collaboration with dynamic duo Kataleya & Kandle, is not about to rest on his laurels. He wants more.

From Mbarara to Makerere

Faymous’ journey began in Mbarara City, where discipline and ambition were instilled early. A standout student at Kitabi Seminary in Bushenyi, he topped his class before earning a prestigious government sponsorship to Makerere University. There, he spent five years mastering the rigors of a Bachelor’s in Architecture.

Today, he balances a demanding career as a professional architect with a rapidly ascending trajectory in the Ugandan music industry.

Faymous officially entered the music scene in 2018 with his debut release Tegumala. After taking a strategic hiatus in 2020 to focus on professional growth, he made a thunderous comeback in 2025.

His return has been marked by high‑profile collaborations that have dominated the airwaves. Gundeeze became a massive hit with Kataleya & Kandle, Kigwo (Remix) reimagined his 2020 track with Geosteady’s powerful vocals, while Oli Wange showcased his romantic side alongside Nina Roz.

The future under Ray Pan Management

Now based in Kampala and backed by Ray Pan Management, Faymous is no longer just a “rising star.” He is a sophisticated artist with a growing catalog that includes fan favorites like Otukubanyo. By day, he designs skylines; by night, he crafts the soundtrack to the city.

“I am testament to the fact that with enough drive, one can excel in the world of blueprints and the world of beats simultaneously,” he said in an interview.

With his dual career and relentless ambition, Faymous is shaping not only Uganda’s skyline but also its soundscape.
